Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Brownsboro High School.  My name is Karen McHam and this is my 16th year working in education, my sixth year at BISD.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M University where I received my BS in Floriculture.  After getting married, owing a small shop and beginning a family I decided to go back to school.  After attending UT Tyler I received my teaching certification in Biology and have loved it from day one.
This year I will be teaching freshmen Biology and upper level Forensic Science.  In addition to teaching students, I sponsor the BHS Student Council.  Student Council has sponsored activities throughout the years which have included The Rainbow Room of East Texas, Red Ribbon Week activities, local Veteran's, BHS teachers, and needy families.
It is my goal to encourage student to explore and question the living world around them.  The more students question, the more they learn.  If you have any questions regarding my classes, please email me at
